Panic

Yesterday we had the first day of severe weather.  Normally we get this in July, but in light of global warning and jet streams dipping and rising around us, we recieved it yesterday afternoon.

The afternoon skies menaced and threatened us with their looming green eyes.  I realized then, that despite the thirteen degree weather, we could definitely see that tornado they were warning us about was imminent!

I had to drive downtown, through grey skies, that seemed to be falling around me, and as I got closer to downtown, the sky did indeed crash down with torrential rain and hail.

In no time the streets were flooded.  I could send the panic around me, mostly with the realization that this is potentially dangerous, and hot weather hot weather is just around the corner...what will happen then?

We did have that tornado, about thirty minutes away from our house.  No damage around us, no fallen trees or broken branches.  No scattered leaves from winds that would have plucked them away.  No flooding either!

We were lucky yesterday, but we were reminded of how powerful God is, and how gentle the outcome was.

While people do get panicked by all the warnings, it is helpful to know where precautions are vital in light of certain situations!
